1.) Mounting the device on a tank, silo or container
a) Mounting the device:
b) Please note:
Angle:
The device has to be mounted horizontally in parallel to the vessel lid. Otherwise it may come to unwanted reflections from the environment leading to signal noise.
Avoid interfering objects:
Please check that there are no interfering objects like other vessel installations, grates or agitators beneath or within close proximity to the radar device.
Avoid metal:
The radar’s antenna may not be covered by metal objects to avoid incorrect measurements.
Water films:
The device must not stand in water. The installation location has to be selected accordingly so that the device doesn’t stand in a water film after rainfalls.

Finishing the creation of the FWR30 Asset in Netilion
After clicking on the “Save” button in the previous step, the following notification appears on the screen:
Please follow the given instructions to complete the onboarding process of the Micropilot FWR30:
Press the blue button on the device until the LED at the front of the device lights green.
The configuration data is then getting transmitted to the device and a measurement is triggered.
During the measurement, the LED will blink green.
When the measurement is complete and the measurement data has been transmitted to the Netilion cloud, the LED will confirm this step with a fixed green light again. Your device is now fully working and ready to use.
Important:
With the normal FWR30 without Flood Monitoring function, if you press the button longer than 7 seconds the SIM Card is deactivating itself and a reactivation can only be done by deleting and onboard the FWR30 again or creating a Support Case to ask the support.
c) Configuring the FWR30 in Netilion Process for Flood Monitoring
The asset and the tag are created in Netilion Value as before.
Next step is to open the Netilion Process Service and finish the configuration of the FWR30
In Netilion Process the view looks like this
Search or navigate to your Tag in the tree structure on the left side and click on it to select it and open the overview of the Tag/Asset object.
Under the Settings Symbol on the right side select the Serial Number as these Settings are Asset specific for the FWR30.
The Level Calibration should arrive after first sanding interval after pressing the Blue Button in the last Commissioning step.
- Toggle the Activation slider to activate the Device
- The Distance Sensor Surface Value is coming from the device after sending the first values
- The Level Surface Bottom need to be entered manually for the calculation
- Save the Calibration
- After this press the button again for 3 seconds to send the Water Level and refresh the Website to load the latest settings
- Select the Unit Netilion Process should display the Values and Charts
If the Distance is not showing up press the button again 3 seconds until it blinks green and stable green so it sends the values again to Netilion.
The Unit on the Level settings is only selectable after the Calibration is done and the Water Level Value is available.
If the Unit is not shown press the button again to send the calculated Water Level after this the Units are visible for selection.
In the end the Settings should look like this:
Setup the Limits for the Flood Application on the Water Level Value
Wake-Up Level (FWR30 wake up and increase the measurement interval)
Medium Level (First Alarm and Event creation for Medium Limit)
High Level (Second Alarm and Event creation for High Limit)
This three Levels are important that the algorithm from the Flood Application knows when the device need to send more values and send Events with Alarms.
The FWR30 Is now operational and ready to use.
If the activation has not been done during this process, please consider the following article about the SIM Card activation:
