Field Device Communication Handling
The SGC200 efficiently receives device information, such as measurements and device status, by listening to BlueConnect telegrams from field devices. This method allows the Edge to gather data without establishing an active connection, ensuring seamless communication without interference.
Evolution of Device Status Transmission
Over time, the SGC200 has evolved to better integrate with Netilion. Initially, device health information was less accessible. As a preliminary solution, device status was sent as an integer value to the Value App and displayed as Ne107. However, this approach was not optimal, as the cryptic status provided limited value to customers and used unnecessary data storage.
Recognizing this, the field device status has since been transmitted as health information to the asset and appropriately displayed in the Health App. Cause & Remedy information is not provided.
Upcoming Changes in Version 02.01.00
With the release of version 02.01.00, the transmission of device status to the Value App as Ne107 will be discontinued. For newly created assets, this value will no longer appear. For existing assets, the value will not be updated further. While the Edge does not delete data, customers can manually remove the outdated Ne107 asset measurement value from their Netilion account.
