Sensor Exchange Scenarios for Liquiline Platform Device in Netilion

Preconditions

  • SGC500 software version: 3.02.01 or higher
  • Connect Liquiline Modbus TCP device to LAN network. Make sure port 502 is accessible.

Scenario 1

Sensor will be exchanged (same channel) because of a defect, exchanged sensor will be scrapped

  • Replace the old sensor with a new sensor (a new asset is automatically created).
  • Note: No action required in Netilion account.

 

Scenario 2

Sensor will be exchanged because of a calibration. Afterwards the exchanged and calibrated sensor will be connected to another Liquiline Platform Device in the same Netilion account.

  • Replace the old sensor with a new sensor (a new asset is automatically created).
  • Login to Netilion account, select the old sensor asset and unassign it from the instrumentation.

 

Scenario 3

Sensor will be exchanged because of a calibration. Afterwards the exchanged and calibrated sensor will be connected to the same Liquiline Platform Device but different channel in the same Netilion account.

  • Replace the old sensor with a new sensor (a new asset is automatically created).
  • Login to Netilion account, select the old sensor asset and un-assign it from the instrumentation.

 

Scenario 4

Sensor will be exchanged because of any reason. Afterwards the exchanged and calibrated sensor will be connected to another Liquiline Platform Device in another Netilion account.

  • This scenario is currently not supported.

 

Scenario 5

Sensor of a channel will be exchanged to another sensor type.

  • Liquiline Platform Device will recognize the sensor type change and inform the user on its display about loss of configurations.
  • The Modbus variable mapping of the previous sensor type will be automatically removed within the Liquiline and must be re-mapped for new sensor type.
  • Login to Netilion account, on Edge Device - Fieldgateway Details page check related mapping configuration, maybe change value name.

 

Note

The FieldEdge SGC500 analytics service checks every 20 minutes the sensors connected to the Liquiline channels. In case of a sensor exchange the SGC500 will send health and value data to the previously used sensor asset until the analytic service will recognize the exchange.
