You have the possibility to assign or unassign an asset to / from your subscription. This increases the flexibility in the use of the services as you can define exactly which assets you want to use as a part of your subscription.
Why should I use this feature?
You can benefit from this feature...
- ... if you have an edge device: It scans your network and automatically registers the assets it can read. You can quickly have hundreds of assets registered. But you may want to limit the use of your subscription to a certain number of assets only.
- ... if another user shared assets with you
When a user shares an object with you, such as a node containing one or more assets, these are by default not assigned to your subscription at first. You will see them greyed out in your object list or on the details page of the tag to which the asset is assigned. In this way, they will not consume capacity unless you activate them intentionally. - … if you have a subscription for several Netilion services: You can now distinguish which assets you wish to assign to which Netilion service.
Assigning an asset to your subscription
To assign an asset to your subscription, follow these steps:
From the object list
- Sign in to Netilion
- On the all objects list, click on the three dots on the right side of the greyed-out asset
- Select Assign to Subscription
From the object details page
- Sign in to Netilion
- In the section Assets of the tag details page, click on the three dots of the greyed-out asset
- Select Assign to Subscription
From the subscription details page
- Sign in to Netilion
- Click on your username
- Select subscription
- In the Assigned Assets section, click Edit
- Add / remove assets to be assigned by using checkboxes
Tip: The section title shows you the number of assets currently assigned and your total capacity. If these two numbers are identical, it means that you have used up all the available space and need to either remove assets or upgrade.
